A 2D1N Komodo overnight trip covers six stops: Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong on day one, then Padar sunrise, Pink Beach and the ranger-led Komodo dragon trek on day two. Manta Point and Taka Makassar normally drop off. Private charter of the whole boat starts at IDR 85,000,000 for up to six guests.
The one thing 2D1N buys you
Sunrise on Padar. That is the honest answer. Everything else on the two-day route can be done from a fast day boat out of Labuan Bajo; the 06:00 light on the three-bay ridge cannot, because no day boat leaves early enough to get there. If you are weighing a long day trip against an overnight, the overnight is buying you one hour of light and a night at anchor under a sky with no shore glow.
What it is not buying you is Komodo National Park in any complete sense. The park runs from Kelor in the north to Nusa Kode in the deep south; a one-night route touches the top third of it.

What drops off compared with 3D2N
- Manta Point (Karang Makassar) — the drift snorkel over the manta cleaning station in 8–18 metres. This is the single biggest loss.
- Taka Makassar — the crescent sandbar, and the best late-afternoon light in the park.
- Sebayur and Siaba — the two easy-water snorkelling sites.
- A second dragon option — no chance to swap Komodo Island for Rinca if ranger scheduling changes.
- Weather redundancy — with one Padar window and no spare day, a rough night ends the highlight of the trip.
Aura Suci Liveaboard 2D1N trip prices
Aura Suci Liveaboard Phinisi’s 2D1N package covers Kelor Island, Manjarite Island and Kalong Island around Komodo National Park. As a private charter, the whole boat is booked per group — not per cabin and not per person — and the rate scales with the number of guests on board.
Because the hull is chartered whole, two guests and six guests pay the same IDR 85,000,000 — what changes as you add people is the cost per head, not the cost of the boat. Six guests works out near IDR 14,200,000 each, twelve at IDR 9,000,000, and sixteen at IDR 7,700,000. The step between tiers covers crew and catering load, not a per-cabin charge.
Rates on this page are Aura Suci’s own charter rate card as at 8 September 2026. Charter pricing in Labuan Bajo moves with season, fuel and crew load, so confirm the live figure with the reservations desk before you transfer a deposit.
The Rp 650,000 (Komodo/Padar) and Rp 900,000 (Rinca) figures you will see quoted on other booking sites are not the national-park ticket. They are bundled amounts: the PP 36/2024 entrance fee plus regional levies plus ranger and trail-management charges collected on the island. The Rp 3,750,000 “conservation membership” floated back in 2022 was cancelled and is not payable. Park fees are excluded from every Aura Suci rate and are settled on the day you enter the park.

Who 2D1N is best for
If two nights is genuinely all you have, take it — but read the five, six and eight-night south Komodo routes first so you know what you are trading away, and consider the Lombok to Komodo crossing if you are arriving from the west. - Travellers with exactly two free days between Bali and their onward flight.
- Photographers who only want Padar at first light and are indifferent to mantas.
- Corporate or incentive groups chartering a whole boat for a single night out of Labuan Bajo.
- Poor fit for divers, first-time visitors travelling a long way specifically for Komodo, and anyone travelling between December and March when a single weather window is a real risk.

What do you actually see on a 2D1N Komodo trip?
Six stops: Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong on the afternoon and evening of day one, then Padar at sunrise, Pink Beach and the ranger-led dragon trek on Komodo Island on day two, before returning to Labuan Bajo. Manta Point and Taka Makassar drop off.
Do you still get Padar sunrise on a 2D1N?
Yes. That is the whole point of the overnight format — the boat anchors within reach of Padar and the trek runs at first light on day two. A single-day speedboat tour cannot deliver that, which is why 2D1N exists at all.
Do you see manta rays on a 2D1N?
Usually not. Manta Point sits east of Komodo Island and adding it forces a late return. Some operators squeeze it in by cutting Pink Beach; ask before you book which of the two you are actually getting rather than assuming both.
How much does a 2D1N Komodo charter cost?
The whole boat is chartered per group: IDR 85,000,000 for one to six guests, IDR 108,000,000 for seven to twelve, and IDR 123,200,000 for thirteen to sixteen, with each additional guest above sixteen at IDR 4,500,000 up to a maximum of twenty-four. Komodo National Park entrance fees sit outside the charter rate and are paid on the day you enter.
Is 2D1N enough time in Komodo National Park?
It is enough for the three signature sights and nothing else. If Komodo is the only reason you flew to Flores, two nights is the better minimum. If Komodo is a two-day add-on to a Bali or Lombok trip, 2D1N does its job.
When is 2D1N a waste of money?
In December to March, when rough seas can cancel the single Padar window and you have no second chance. Also for divers, since one night gives you no dive schedule at all, and for groups who will spend more on flights than on the boat.
What time does a 2D1N start and end?
Late morning departure from Labuan Bajo — typically between 09:30 and 10:30 — and a return around midday or early afternoon on day two. Confirm the exact window with the reservations desk, because it shifts with the tide and the anchorage.
Can I do 2D1N as an open trip or only as a charter?
On Aura Suci the published open-trip schedule is 3D2N; the 2D1N appears as a private-charter route. Per-person 2D1N berths do exist elsewhere in the Labuan Bajo fleet — the reservations desk can point you to a hull with an open departure.
